Saturday 14/3/2015 Day 67 Sea Day 2 Shanghai to Hong Kong

By the time we wake up tomorrow we will be coming in to Kowloon in Hong Kong for a 2 day stay.  It doesn’t seem long since we were here, but it’s 15 months!  We can’t wait to revisit the foody places and get some new sight-seeing in.  We have made a list (which also includes a massage)

Today has been an ending for many of the passengers, as 600 people are leaving the ship tomorrow in Hong Kong. It gives us a bit of an insight into how it might feel for us in around 5 weeks’ time I am not sure how many new passengers will be getting on.  We saw lots of affectionate goodbyes in the dining room, photo taking and overheard promises of meeting up gain from the surrounding tables.  Our table of six are remaining together until Southampton but I imagine it will be quite a wrench after all these weeks of eating together and slowly discovering so much about each other and sharing such a lot.

We have had a lovely sea day.  The weather warmed up again to around 20C so the leisurely coffee on the deck by the pool was back, and we were once again able to walk around the promenade deck without the wind chill factor ;)

Our final sector 3 art class was in the morning and was a satisfactory “landscape with reflection in river”, in time to display it in exhibition number 3 in the afternoon.  A few of us gathered in the Costa Coffee bar while that was happening and there’s a growing camaraderie amongst the diverse novice art students, exchanging anecdotes, micky taking and lots of laughing.

The choir’s final day of sector 3 performance was really lovely again. The songs I remember were In my Life (Beatles) Dream (Everly Brothers) Summertime (Porgy and Bess) My Girl/My guy Medley, Sound of Music Medley.  Mel (one of the entertainment team) has learned how to conduct the choir, and the evening pianist accompanied. A delightful way to spend an hour.  I still might join the choir, there’s time!

Ok, that’s our last sea day from shanghai to Hong Kong. Good night and be back soon. xx
